Rheumatoid arthritis (referred to as RA),  is a long-term autoimmune disorder that primarily affects joints. It usually causes fever, swelling and pain in the joints. Pain and stiffness tend to get worse at night. The most common is that the wrists, hands and the same joints involved on both sides of the body.
